Dentist

Dr. Greg Wright grew up in Frankton, Indiana (near Anderson). He attended Frankton Jr. Sr. High School, graduating in 1991. During the summer before his junior year, Dr. Wright participated in a cross-country camp at Marian College (now Marian University) in Indianapolis. During some free time he played a competitive tennis match with the camp’s director. Dr. Wright dove for a shot causing his racquet to hit the ground and bounce back into his two front teeth, breaking them. With such severe dental trauma as a teenager, he thought his smile was ruined forever. Fortunately, Dr. Wright had a wonderful family dentist that was extremely personable, accommodating and understanding. During his treatment, which included two root canals and porcelain veneers, Dr. Wright not only remembers the outstanding patient care he received but also how much better he felt with his new smile. Because of this experience, Dr. Wright decided to pursue a career in the field of dentistry. He wanted to be able to recreate that same feeling of confidence for others seeking beautiful smiles.

After high school graduation, Dr. Wright attended Indiana University-Bloomington for his undergraduate degree. After three years, he received early admittance to Indiana University School of Dentistry. In 1998, he graduated from IU School of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and accepted an offer from his future father-in-law and dental mentor, Dr. David Bailey, as well as Dr. Joseph Bailey, to begin practicing at David E. Bailey, DDS and Joseph M. Bailey DDS, PC in July of that same year.

In 2002, Dr. Wright bought into the practice and its name changed to Bailey, Bailey & Wright Family Dentistry. After practicing for more than 20 years, Dr. Wright still maintains the same mantra, “Treat everyone like family.” Dr. Wright enjoys getting to know his patients and their families and he is extremely proud of the large patient base he and his partners have generated and sustained over the practice’s history.

As a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and Indianapolis District Dental Society, Dr. Wright is committed to the values of professional dentistry. He is a family and cosmetic practitioner with years of experience utilizing Invisalign as a means to properly align teeth without the use of metal braces.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Wright has a passion for physical fitness and sharing that with his family. He enjoys being outdoors, running, hiking (especially in National Parks), IU athletics, and spending time with his wife, Charron (Dr. David Bailey’s oldest daughter), and three children, Conner, Logan, and Morgan.

Over the years, Dr. Wright has enjoyed coaching his kids’ baseball, basketball and soccer teams, as well as helping them to achieve their individual running goals. He spends his evenings and weekends watching his kids play soccer and run in cross country and track meets. He is involved in the Boy Scouts of America, having served as an adult leader for both of his sons, as well as supporting them on their path to Eagle Scout. He also finds time to volunteer as a mentor through Fishers Youth Mentoring Initiative, and various ministries for his church.

In 2015, Dr. Wright accompanied other church members on a Dental Mission Trip to Guatemala. Together, they provided free dental care to a number of individuals in a poverty-stricken area. In 2019, he participated in a rigorous 10-day backpacking trip with his two sons arranged by the Boy Scouts of America and the Philmont Scout Ranch. Both of these experiences taught him the importance of conservation and not taking anything for granted.

One fun fact about Dr. Jeff Wright or “Dr. Jeff” is that he is the brother of Dr. Greg Wright. They, along with their sister, grew up in Frankton, Indiana (near Anderson). Although the brothers are seven years apart, they have always had a close relationship. Dr. Greg would often mentor Dr. Jeff on his career path during Dr. Jeff’s high school days.

Dr. Jeff had always been interested in healthcare, but having an older brother that successfully graduated from dental school and started a career at David E. Bailey, DDS and Joseph M. Bailey DDS, PC definitely inspired him to take a closer look at dentistry.

However, it was during this same time that Dr. Jeff was considering a career in architecture. During the summer before his senior year of high school, he attended an Architecture + Planning camp at Ball State University to learn more about architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning. Though he appreciated the camp, he quickly learned there is much more to architecture than drafting—the craft he truly enjoyed. With this insight, Dr. Jeff was able to make a very clear decision to pursue a career as a dentist.

In 1999, Dr. Jeff graduated from Frankton Jr. Sr. High School and began his dental school prerequisites and undergraduate coursework at Indiana University-Bloomington. During his time at IU, Dr. Jeff became an avid cyclist, training and riding in the Indiana University Student Foundation Little 500 race for his fraternity from 2000-2003. In 2003, Dr. Jeff was accepted to the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) in Indianapolis, and graduated in 2007 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.

During this time, Bailey, Bailey & Wright Family Dentistry was flourishing and the need for an additional doctor was essential. With more than 35 years of experience—and many of those years working alongside a brother and a son-in-law—Dr. David Bailey understood the importance of family. Upon his graduation from IUSD, Dr. Jeff was offered a position with the practice.

Over the years, Dr. Jeff has prioritized getting to know each of the families that have been coming to Bailey & Wright since the beginning with Dr. David! Engaging with patients and watching families grow is certainly one of the most rewarding aspects of Dr. Jeff’s job. He understands the importance of cultivating and sustaining relationships with each individual that sits in his chair. Because Dr. Jeff is known around the office for his laid-back and approachable personality, he strives to ensure patients feel the same; it is important that he, along with the Bailey & Wright team, provide a gentle and “family-like” environment and that patients feel comfortable.

In 2010, Dr. Jeff bought into the practice and its name changed to Bailey & Wright Dentistry—a more simplistic approach that still represented the names for both sets of brothers. As a new partner and co-owner, Dr. Jeff wanted to focus on adding additional treatment options for patients, particularly implant placement and restoration.

Today, Dr. Jeff has more than ten years of experience placing and restoring dental implants. Whether it be a single tooth replacement or a full mouth restoration, he is very pleased to offer this treatment choice as a superior option to patients missing one or more teeth. With dental implants, a new smile is always the end result so a great deal of accomplishment for Dr. Jeff is knowing a patient’s confidence restored when treatment is complete.

Dr. Jeff is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and Indianapolis District Dental Society.

In his free time, Dr. Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife, Andrea, and their two children, Hudson and Landry. Team Wright also has a senior German Shorthaired Pointer dog named Lucia, affectionately named for the Caribbean island where he and his wife honeymooned in 2006. Dr. Jeff enjoys traveling, running (he has completed over 10 mini-marathons and would like to do a marathon one day), boating, cycling, the Indianapolis 500, IU athletics, and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts. Dr. Jeff also appreciates a good card game, crossword puzzle, board game or jigsaw puzzle.

A lifelong Hoosier, Dr. Joe Bailey or “Dr. Joe” was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Warren Central High School and graduated in 1979. He continued his undergraduate studies at Indiana University-Bloomington. In 1982 he went on to attend Indiana University School of Dentistry to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1986. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Joe began practicing with his older brother and (now retired) founder of Bailey & Wright Dentistry, Dr. David Bailey.

Dr. Joe knew at an early age that he wanted to pursue a career in the health field. Perhaps this was due, in part, to shadowing his pediatric dentist and orthodontist during his childhood or having an older brother that pursued a career in the field of dentistry. Ultimately, Dr. Joe decided to follow in their footsteps and become a dentist.

After practicing for more than 30 years, Dr. Joe is still known around the office for his thoughtful and even-keeled demeanor, which delivers a sense of calm and puts his patients at ease. Providing unparalleled dental care and creating a calming environment for his patients is his top priority. Dr. Joe has fostered and maintained relationships with families that have now been coming to the practice since its' beginning with Dr. David. Being able to cultivate long-lasting relationships with his patients is something he truly enjoys about his job and sets Bailey & Wright Dentistry apart.

Dr. Joe is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and Indianapolis District Dental Society. He spends one day a week at Indiana University School of Dentistry as a faculty member advising and mentoring dental students in all areas of the field.

He and his wife, Barb, were married in 1994 and are proud parents to two children, Matt and Lauren. Having coached both kids in sports during their childhood, Dr. Joe now finds himself cheering on the sidelines as they excelled as student-athletes both in high school and college. In addition to his own alma mater (go Hoosiers!), Dr. Joe is now a fan of the Wabash Little Giants, University of Indianapolis (UIndy) Greyhounds, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He also enjoys watching the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and Cincinnati Reds.

In his free time, you may find Dr. Joe hanging out with Mickey Mouse. His family loves to frequent Disney World on their vacations. In addition to travel, Dr. Joe has taken a recent liking to hiking and following the stock market.

And, in case you were wondering (because many have been asking!), Dr. Joe isn’t looking to retire any time soon. When the time does come, however, he’s planning to dig out years of notes he has been saving to start a series of children’s books.
